I have a 02 rsx auto base.. I want to keep it sorta sleeper stock. So can i just use the auto engine set up from the TSX? I would like then add an SC. hehehee.. can i do this and how much..?? i have $2,200.00 to fuck with, Is that enough cash to do the swap?? what would i need?

Its going to be a little more complicated than that. 1st off you will have to have K-Pro. To the best of my knowledge there is no other option. In addition I don't think you can keep the Auto because K-Pro won't run the auto transmission.
It can be done, but I think it will be a little more expensive than what you are looking at.
K24A2 (TSX) Motor ~ $2,000
K-Pro ~ $900
Manual Tranny ~ $600
So you are looking at around $3500 and that is assuming you do all the labor yourself.

1st piece of advice, go manual- auto's are a waste of an engine- 2nd, you'd need a K24 (TSX) ECU, motor, K-Pro, K24 manual tranny (as ml said, no auto support, as they don't like poser-motors, and dyno-tuning an auto is a BITCH) plus you'd have to get some other bits from a manual TSX or RSX to do the auto-manual swap- the labor and all would get HEFTY- plus a blower- umm, you blew past 2200 with JUST the motor/ecu/tranny- sorry bro
Just buy a cheap RSX base 5-speed or RSX-S 6-speed and learn how to drive- labor on the swap will set you back about $800 (depending on your shop) plus ~$1k for the swap- that'll get you going quicker really fast :)
Doing work to an automatic is a waste of $ in general- it sounded poserish (EVERYONE knows what an auto sounds like when it shifts- you hear that, you know the kid's got nothing worth a damn) to put an exhaust or intake on an auto. Put that bank into a manual tranny swap and you'll be getting more cred than just about any automatic swap, unless you're HARDCORE sub-9 second drag racing :) Then it MIGHT be ok- I know a guy who turbo'ed a base RSX auto- it was the worst sounding car I've ever heard- just a waste of $, he never won shows despite $7k invested in looks and turbo, mostly because he had an auto- sad story I know :) Short version- nobody respects the autobox homie- get a third pedal ASAP

hmm where to start with this .. first off i know how to drive manual.. i just want to do this auto thing as its something no one would expect.. and its different... second i have won several trophies with my last two cars.. 21 in all and those are mostly first place spots at HIN, Import Showoff, Autofest.. in three different states.. cali, texas and atl. Not some backyard nopi wannabe show in a parking lot. Plus i did do SEMA three yeas in a row. So as far as the show scene .. ive been there and done that. I fix up cars for myself.. not for someone to give me cred.. thanks for your opinion though :angel:
So i know to try this in an auto is nuts.. but thats what im gonna do.. i just need to know how as i am just learning the ins and outs of motors. :thumbs_up

Alright man- your money- I'm just telling you, an automatic won't get you any cred unless you do something INCREDIBLY over the top- no real street racer or show judge gives a damn about 99% of the autoboxes out there- gotta work hard to get anything out of that- Mark W.

auto or stick matters very little on the overall points system of the car.. I judged a few HIN shows. Depending on what class your in. I had an auto accord v6.. i seemed to still take first place in cali, tx and atl.. 8)

So my old auto 1993 twin turbo supra has no street creds? I laid down 887hp and 821lbs of torque and it shifted beautifully...with an auto. I just had to install a special torque converter and gear set. It doesn't fucking matter if it is an auto or manual...the gearing doesn't make the car fast the driver does. So cut the guy a fucking break, or I will have to find my old supra borrow it and kick your ass with it!

Why would you trade a twin turbo supra with almost 900hp for an RSX?
I think thaduke2003 was trying to get accross that there is no way to do what he wants to do with the kind of money that he said he had available.

Easy honkie- language not needed- and yes, automatic supras still don't get much love- and the gearing DOES matter- there's not much a driver can do in an autobox to make it faster- a MECHANIC can make it faster by working on it, but in an auto, all you do is push down the throttle and steer- in a manual, the driver can make or break the car the way they use the clutch- the only way an auto driver can screw up is with the throttle- not a huge challenge man- Mark W.

All depends..racing torque convertors and a special shift sensor can be triggered by throttle response so the driver can force a shift smoothly also you can program the shift rpms and still do a launch at 8500rpms by pushing it in N and slamming it in drive. And no with a built tranny it won't fuck it up. I sold the supra because i grew bored with it. I havn't bought my RSX yet i am just researching it for a probable purchase. I am wishing to do a full JDM DC-5 Type-R conversion down to the drivetrain and interioir(except RHD). Any info would be appreciative. My other vehicle thoughts are the EVO, STi, Fairlady Z, and G35/V35. I really like the aggressive stance the RSX puts on though that and it is 10K cheaper then my other prospects. I am just looking for a vehicle that looks aggressive and can produce 450-515whp without too much difficulties and without spending an arm and a leg. My supra wasn't cheap to build nor cheap to buy :) Money isn't really an issue ( i have a good job) it is just that where I live there isn't really a car around that makes you go ohhh ahhh.
