He didn't post about it here, but I did see him post about it over on K20A.org.
Nice set up. Thats got to be an absolute blast to drive. Other than the power mods what other mods do you have? Suspension? LSD etc. You going sleeper style, or got some body mods too?

Damn man, type S tranny. I bet 1st and 2nd gear are totally useless at full throttle 8)
What turbo are you looking at going with?
liteyouup
11-15-2005, 08:58 PM
Yeah, I bought the type-S tranny when I still had the A3 with only 255 whp. I don't really want to go back to the 5 spd. because the quaife is in the 6. First is useless for sure, and second would probably hook up nice at the drag strip.
Haven't exactly decided on the turbo yet. I am still driving the car on the street, so I don't want to just order a huge ass turbo and have retarded turbo lag, but I don't want to buy too small either. Although, I think I'm going to go with the one-fab manifold.

I guess, but the only race I have gotten in so far is with a Ford Lightning, and it wasn't very hard to win. :cake:

Dont go too much higher than 350 whp on stock pistons. I PROMISE you, that if you do, we will see you posting about fried piston rings in a short amount of time. Sick numbers nonetheless. The torque is right behind the HP, must be fun.:)

I'm also building a k24a2 w/ gt35r, race IM, adfab manifold and was wonderring what rpm your rev limiter was set? I also am having a k20a2 head port & polished w/ portmatch to the IM with manley valves, springs & retainers. Still running stock sleeves with crower rods and cp pistons.
I can tell the turbo ran out because you should have more torque. I ran the gt35r on my A3 and got 300wheel to 265 tq. Also what shafts you running?
Good luck with her, she sounds like a hoot.

For now, the rev limiter is set at 7400. The Greddy turbo doesn't make power up higher, even on the A3. Until I get a new turbo set up, there's no reason to risk damaging my engine for nothing. It's got Crower Cam's.

OK, I lied. I looked at it today, and it's set to 8K. I'll be damned.

Tobi set mine high too, thats how I got the 8200 ... I was gonna tell him 7800 --- he set it at 8200 so I left it be. I think after the last dyno session he lowered it back to 7800 as no power is seen above 7600 on my setup.

Are you running a fuel return system?

^yes, he is --

Yes, the fuel system was needed after making like 320hp or something, then we ran out of fuel pump. The Greddy turbo didn't want to push much boost on the K24 so we only ended up getting 354whp/340tq @10 psi. New setup is on the car now, but I haven't gotten all the bugs worked out and it's at a local shop. Hope to be making much more horsepower now, but I won't know for a week or two.

I just realized I never updated this. It ended up making 578 whp and 505 tq. @19 psi. on 91 octane. With the built K24, it has hardly any lag, it's crazy. Traction is an issue of course.
