I recently bought this magazine and saw the article on boost controllers. I found it pretty interesting. I'm basically dreaming right now I guess. I thought I'd go ahead and start doing research on turbos, since I'm still slightly new to turbos.

Anyway this boost controller is an A'PEXi AVC-R. The magazine, TPR (I think) says it's the most advance one out there right now. It does basically everything:
The Super AVC-R is the premium closed-loop electronic boost controller on the market. The AVC-R allows flexible control over virtually every aspect of boost control and adds new innovative functions such as injector pulse monitoring and gear specific boost control. Some key functions include: RPM-based boost and solenoid duty cycle control, scramble boost, self learning mode, 2D ghost map trace mode, analog display mode, real time replay and peak hold data modes. The AVC-R utilizes an ultra-fast microprocessor and a high quality solenoid valve to control boost. The result is ultra-fast response and accurate, stable boost control.

So is this something I probably wouldn't use to it's fullest effect?
oh and a link to see it might help:

You would if you were hardcore, but most are scared to mess with things like this. (Like me.) ;)

I don't even have a boost controller just because I know I'd try to up the boost.

yeah it does seem pretty hard core. The magazine I read was nuts. They took a 240sx with that s20det (whatever engine it is that is turbod) stayed at stock boost and then bought the avc-r, cat back exhaust, and afc. They gained over 30hp to the wheels with just tuning it. I thought that was crazy.

With the SAFC you could see a 5 to 10 hp gain on your NA motor. It's all about the tuning. :)

damn that's actually tempting. Especially since my a/f ratio sucked when I went to dyno it last. I was thinking about that or hondata. the afc would be cheaper I guess?

It would be and I'm not entirely sure that you could use the AFC with the Hondata.

s-afc is around $300 or so. Then you have to pay for the dyno time to tune it. It may end up a little cheaper than hondata but your still stuck with the stock rev-limit.

kinda late, but the engine code is SR20DET  i pride myself on knowing almost all the engine codez of hondas(acuras), mitsubishis, nissans. and toyotas... :D
