I know these motors don't have to much torque. I am used to dropping my cars around 2500rpm. I raced a Spev V modded on the bottle(50shot), and i took him off the line i launched about 3300-3500 and the car took off pretty good. I am just asking, I haven't ran this car at the track yet, but i am planning on at most a 2.4 60foot with a .650-.700 reaction time. And better run low to mid 15's. I will be only sporting Neuspeed Race springs on stock rims or my light weight enkis.

(i am a track whore lol 8) ) )

Bring up the revs to 4k and you'll see 2.3 and 2.2 60's.

thanks for the advice, i wil try it on the street a couple times see how the car reacts. I may if i can put my other set of rims on with the kuhmos or Yokohama es100's which will grip a lot better than the factory tires.

I rev up my car to about 4500-5000, but I don't dump the clutch I ride it out some. No wheel hop on it, but only a sick launch.

Depending on how sticky the track is, tires, and motor hop - the higher you launch the better. I like to launch at about 5200, just cuz I don't have the discipline to feather more at a higher rpm. My best launch to date is a 2.189 w/ azenis, es inserts, and torque dampener - at ~5200.

The more power in the curve that you can put to the ground, the more opportunity you have to launch faster. And, with a stock ep, the most power comes at the full 6800. So, in theory, the fastest you will ever be able to launch is at 6800 with perfect clutch usage.... haha... good luck.

the time i went to the track i launched around 4200rpms. i ran a 15.7 @86.11 mph and i had a 60' of 2.3

make sure you lower your tire pressure a liitle if you still have the stock rims and tires on if not you will get wheel hop.

YOOOO GOOD LUCK AT THE TRACK... IS NOT THE SAME RACING ON THE STREET... THE TRACK IS A DIFFERENT WORLD LAUNCH AT 4OOO RPM'S  IT TAKES MORE SKILLS...

anyone pump/I think feather the clutch?
I know a few wrx/evo drivers that do this in their awd' they said it really brings down wheel hop, otherwise you'll sit spinning for a while.
anyone have experience with this, that can maybe explain it alittle better?

OH MAN do i hate the wheel hop, ive done it a cople time and its not good for the car, i swear i thought my dashboard was gonna break off and fly in my face that how bad it was

My first and only time at the track I was launching at about 3k and feathering the clutch. By the end of the night I was consistently hitting 2.2x 60's and low to mid 15.3x. It got to the point that I just couldnt go any faster no matter what adjustments I made my time always stayed reletavily the same. The next time I go im going to have to try launching at 4500 to see if it really makes that much of difference.

What if you have motor mount inserts? Would feathering at 3,500rpm still good?

You don't dump the clutch on AWD or else you will start to break stuff.

FWD it how you modulate the clutch no dumping.

5200 and slip it....I've had 2.0 60fts on azenis at 12 psi.

But that is because my primary rev-limiter is at 5500, since the redline is lower on the ep3 the primary is probly lower. What is it by the way?

Stock redline on the ep3 is 6800. With Hondata, it's 7700.

When I'd slip/feather the clutch at even 4k in the Si (on stock tires),
the wheel hope I'd endure was furious. 2.35+ 60 foots. I'm hoping
the motor mounts I've put in since (plus new tires) will help that.

.... I agree NO DUMPING that requires no skill.

I know that I'm talking about your stand still limiter.

My fuel cut is 8600, but sitting still it is 5500.

That's what the feather is for....you can keep the spin down with any tires if you modulate right.

Ah, my bad. I don't believe there is a stand still limiter (I haven't tried
just revving the hell out of it, but I've tapped the gas a time or two
and approached redline with no sign of fuel cut/limiting).

Right about the feather - my technique just sucks, I guess. ;)
