I just sold my 01 civic coupe and the lady wanted it back to stock so I have a set of B&G coilovers. Will I be able to use them in my 03 SiR?

Unfortunately no. You're better off selling them on Ebay and getting new ones.

actually you can. the suspension parts for the em/ep3/dc5 are basically interchangable...
btw would you sell your b&gs? if so how much? e-mail me at vnlilmanx637@hotmail .com

No their not. The spring rates should vary, coilover or not.

They are not copatible because the EM suspension is a wishbone suspension up front compared to the EP3/DC5 front strut suspension.

wishbone? wishbone was last generation, we use mcpherson struts just like you guys...
we can also use dc5's. we just need new tie rods and shave 1mm off the rear bottom bracket

also sway bars are interchangable between all 3. all you need are the bushings. you can use the same endlinks and brackets.

civic, i was going to ask why you following me but i forgot you have an ep now

From my understanding if it's sleeve type of coilovers they will fit only if you have the right silver cap that goes on top of the springs, which you can get from GC I believe. An owner with GC coilovers for a 01 + coupe had to do that for his 02 Si when they sent him the 01+ civic coupe GC.

So yes they will fit...I take it they are the sleeve type and not full coilovers? If they are the full coilover type, then just follow what civicvtec just stated

Oh is EM the chassis of the 99-00 Civics? If not and that is for the 01+ Civic coupes, what is it for the 99-00 civics? I believe that was what cone killer was saying...that the EM is for 99-00 civics

B&Gs are true coilovers.
oh~ i guess cone-killer was thinking the 01 was an EM. 01+ are EM2s. not sure what 99-00s are...

ah, well in that case, that guy is going to need to drill the bolt holes to 16mm. Not sure if it's worth it.

6th gen coupes are em1's

and yes, the suspension WILL work. the spring rates should be more or less correct, the k20 is a bit heavier than the d17 in the em2, but you can adjust the ride hieght if the front end sits too low b/c of the lower front spring rate. Just call up B+G and get some revised spring rates front & rear for the ep3.

try something like 450lb/in front and 700lb/in rear.

Um...It usually doesn't work that way. The shocks are going to be valved to match the springs. You might be able to go about + or - 100 pounds, if they have springs that are easily interchangable (like 60mm ID springs), but most likely they have a specific spring design. Also, you generally want stiffer rates on the drive wheels, not on the passive wheels. What you described sounds more like a stiff Porsche setup! :D
