I had the same concerns as you when I bought my EP3 3 months ago. I talked to the service manager at my local Honda dealership and he told me that as long as you're doing bolt ons (i/h/e), then you will not void the warranty. In fact, he recommended I do it since he said it would help me with gas mileage. I have an AEM V2 in mine and Magnaflow exhaust and took mine to get it's oil changed last month with no issues. They asked me how it was running, complimented me on my ride, and I was off. I have heard of some dealerships being pricks about people modding their car but they should not void the warranty since you have not boosted it. I think that you should talk to the service manager and have him put in writing that it will not void your warranty in case there is ever any issues (in fact I'm going to have my local service mgr. do that hehe). Hope that helps.

well i know that acuras void warranties with any type of aftermarket exhaust system... but accepts ram air but not CAI

but i have EP3 and i was told CAI was ok since dealers sell some with it on to customers... as long as it can be replaced back with no notices

but my machenic recomends replacing OEMs before taking back to dealers for warranties because even if they know you moded it before if you have OEM they cant void your warranties.

Putting it back to stock is always a good idea if you are taking it in for warranty work, thats why I keep all of my original parts :D

for aftermarket stuff to void your warranty, they have to provide a written statement saying that a specific aftermarket part is what caused it to fail. If this part did not cause it, they are required by law to fix your problem. i.e.. you can do a complete motorswap with a turbo kit on the new motor.. and say your power windows quit working. You take the car in, they have to fix your window.

that is complete and utter bullshit. what do they do when their exhaust system gets rusty and leaks? all mild steel exhausts rust. so you go to meineke, merlin, whatever... and then they are going to tell you that they will not do engine work because you have a midas muffler on there? that is not right.

Just a warranty heads up- A CAI will in most cases void a warranty with any engine problems- trust me on this one- I bent a valve at the track in my Subie- CAI's fault. My 483 WHP Saab threw a rod on Lime Rock- CAI's Fault (I'm just kidding on that one- detonation's fault)
Anyway, DJ Addicted has it right- only if they can prove (or lie and say that it did) that an aftermarket caused your problem, then they can void warranty on repairs. Some dealerships are more dick and creative than others in this regard- my local Honda dealership tried to tell me installing a DC Sports short-shifter could void the warranty on my tranny- bitch please. Thankfully, (knocking on wood), I haven't had any warranty problems I couldn't solve myself or ignore (bad lugs on the stock wheels- they went bye bye anyway)
Just be careful what mods you do, and if you have a question, re-post and we'll all tell you what it is my man. Mark W.

I used to work at a honda dealership. The bottom line is if you put in an aftermarket exhaust then it voids the warranty for the oem exhaust (obvousily) but the exhaust would not void the warranty on the engine. So the aftermarket part you put on will void warranty on that area. Eg if you have lowering springs you've voided you're suspension warranty. As for cai... i worked there for 4 years and have seen one 97 lude that sucked up water, bent valves and shot a piston throught the side of the cylinder. How the customer sucked up water is beyond me. Imo you would have to submerse the filter to suck up water. Just my 2 bits
