    rather than sanding, you could get a hand held torch and just lightly go back and forth til the surface starts to melt. all the rough stuff will settle out.

    That probably would have been better to do, but only have a few hours every weekend to stuff on the car lol. I might buy another used air box and try that, the smoother the better.
